Program Description:

Eiffel Tower
Summer in Paris
Spend 4 weeks living & studying in France!
Dates: July 8 - August 6, 2022
Paris has the reputation of being the most beautiful and romantic of all cities, brimming with historic associations and remaining vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design. Dubbed the City of Light (la Ville Lumière) and Capital of Fashion, it is home to the world's finest and most luxurious fashion designers and cosmetics, such as Chanel, Dior, Yves Saint-Laurent, Guerlain, Lancôme, L'Oréal, Clarins, etc. A large part of the city, including the River Seine, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The city has the second highest number of Michelin-restaurants in the world (after Tokyo) and contains numerous iconic landmarks, such as the world's most visited tourist site the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, the Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre Museum, Moulin Rouge, Lido etc, making it the most popular tourist destination in the world with 45 million tourists annually.
Eligibility & Admission Guidelines

Undergraduates from Tulane and other institutions with a 2.5 GPA grade point average (based on a 4.0 system) and non-degree seeking students are eligible to apply for admission. New Tulane students applying for credit must meet the general admission requirements of Tulane University. Priority will be given to those students in degree-seeking university programs. After a thorough review of all application material, students will receive notification of acceptance or rejection into the program.

2022 Courses:
Tulane students who are French majors/minors or plan on becoming French majors/minors should plan on taking courses conducted in French. However, one of the courses taught in English may count toward the French major/minor. If a student wants a course taught in English to count toward the major or minor in French, they must get the instructor's approval beforehand. In addition, there are necessary prerequisites that must be fulfilled for a course to count toward the major/minor.

Housing and Meals

Students will be housed in the FIAP Jean Monnet, centrally located in the 14th arrondisement and blocks away from the metro.

Each room houses two students and is equipped with a bathroom (sink, shower, toilet) telephone, and single beds -- linen and towels are provided.

Payment Terms & Schedule

Please make all payments promptly. No guarantee is given if payment is not received on time. A deposit of $300.00 is due upon application submission in order to secure your space. For any questions or concerns regarding the program deposit, please contact directly.
Registration & Scheduling

Registration is complete when all application materials and payments are received.

Students are required to take and maintain 6 hours on all Tulane Study Abroad summer programs offered through the Tulane Office of Study Abroad. Students are NOT permitted to take summer courses pass/fail.

A valid passport is required for all U.S. citizens traveling to France. Requirements vary for other nationalities. International students should check the requirements for their respective countries. For US passport fees and instructions see the U.S. Department of State site:

It is very important that you apply early for your US passport. The Tulane Office of Study Abroad assumes no responsibility in assisting students with passports. Please contact the Office of Study Abroad if you need documentation indicating you are on a study abroad program.

Medical and Global Rescue

All students participating on Tulane Office of Study Abroad summer programs are covered by a comprehensive study abroad medical insurance policy provided through IES. This insurance is included in the cost of the program.  Students are also covered by Global Rescue.

Accessibility for the Disabled

Tulane University is committed to making all its programs accessible to the physically challenged. Persons requiring special facilities should notify the specific program coordinator and the academic director as soon as possible (in writing). All effort will be made to accommodate but students should be aware that reasonable accommodation may be required.

IMPORTANT: If you do not currently have a passport that will be valid up to six months after the program's end date, you should apply for or renew your existing passport now. The U.S. State Department is experiencing significant processing backlogs due to the pandemic and currently routine passport service can take up to 14 weeks from the day an application is submitted to the day a new passport is received.
